From snail city at Claggan Point, we headed up to Belmullet, and through a short canal. It was a grey dismal kind of day. With the wind on our back, we made relatively quick progress through Broadhaven, to our destination of Pulathomas, where we had accommodation in a hostel booked. It felt a bit early to be getting off the water, but there was little choice. The forecast for the following few days was for strong winds, and we needed settled weather for crossing Donegal Bay.
The Hostel ( Kilcommon Lodge Holiday Hostel ) has proved to be a real gem. With hot showers, access to a washing machine, plus having a meal cooked for us, we thought we had went to Heaven. ( we were badly in need of a good wash, as were our clothes.
